5 Books Every Professional Woman Needs to Read
Reading books is the most inexpensive way to learn! Better yet, books contain someone’s expertise that they spent YEARS developing, and we can read that knowledge in a matter of HOURS.
If you want to get ahead at work, then you need to dedicate time to build the skills that will get you promoted.
These skills aren’t always related to the things you went to school for—marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, etc.
There are skills that you need to manage your reputation, to change the way you lead and manage people and to navigate office politics.
Because here’s the cold, hard truth: Women are not promoted to senior positions as frequently as men.
According to a Yale University study of a large company, women got higher performance ratings than men, but were consistently judged as having less leadership potential than their male counterparts.
And before you assume it’s only male bosses blocking women’s promotions—think again. Women also rated other women as having lower leadership potential.
If you’re tired of getting passed over and are ready to be seen for the leader and manager that you are, then it’s time to level up your skills.
However, most women get stuck here...
They don’t know if they need to go back to school or do online certifications.
And they’re not sure what they need to learn and who they need to learn it from.
Well, I’ve got a way you can start!
I created a reading list for you of the 5 books you need to read.
I have personally read and approved these books, and most of them have been our Book of the Month in my Level Up Book Club.
I want to encourage you to be more intentional about your professional development, and the easiest way to do that is to set aside some time each week to read.
