Book of the Month: Read This if People Stress You Out at Work

If you’ve ever worked in an office before, you know there are many personalities you can encounter, making it challenging to do your job and do it well without unnecessary stress. I read this book in grad school while I was studying organizational behavior, and it was a game changer. Suddenly, so many things that I was frustrated with at work made sense!

This book uses the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator assessment so you can understand how to lead and manage people, based on their personality preferences. Even if you don’t find yourself in a management role yet, this book will help you better understand yourself and those that you need to collaborate with.

While Type Talk at Work is research based, it has very practical steps outlined so that you can handle challenging workplace situations like a pro, including conflict resolution, stress and organizational changes.

This was another pick for my Level Up Book Club, and my members enjoyed learning more about themselves. I’ve also had my private clients read this book when they had difficult bosses and coworkers.

I made an Implementation Guide to go along with this book. This will help you think through your specific situation at work and apply the lessons from this book.
