 Meet Your Career Coach

Michele Dye, M.A.

Maybe you’re here because you’ve been let go. Or maybe you’re here because you think a lay off is coming and you want to be prepared. Or perhaps you’ve just been really frustrated by the lack of opportunities to advance your career at your current institution.

Regardless of what brings you here, I can help you find your way to the next great chapter of your career.

Right now, my biggest in-demand service is résumé coaching. I’ve been on the hiring side enough times to understand what’s important for your résumé. In fact, I’ve developed a framework to help my clients create their best résumé—it’s called The O.R.D.E.R. Method. Working together, I can help you:

  • Clearly communicate your accomplishments and abilities.

  • Format your résumé that’s compliant with Applicant Tracking Systems.

  • Customize your résumé for each job application.

  • Utilize techniques to have an error-free résumé.

I also have a deep understanding of how technology has changed the way job searches are done. Things that you were taught to do for your résumé 5 or 10 years ago isn’t really relevant anymore. And sticking with the old way of thinking is costing you interview opportunities. You’ll learn all about that if you sign up for my Résumé Rescue 5-Day Challenge (psst…it’s free).

As someone who spent 18 years working in higher education (14 years as a communications and marketing director, 4 years in media relations for an athletics department), I understand the challenges that you face every day. The experiences I had, both good and bad, led me to formulate a unique coaching experience for my clients: career performance coaching. It’s something that I wish I had years ago.

Building upon my own experiences and area of research in graduate school, I help clients grow in their current role and prepare for their performance review. Focusing on these two things are extremely important if you want to accelerate your career. Because the reality is your boss probably doesn’t know what you do every day—even when you regularly communicate with them. I teach my clients strategies that empower them to take control of their career and how to leverage their success.

So why do I do what I do? I know my life’s mission is to help others. There’s a big need for professional development opportunities and mentoring, especially for staff members working in higher education. I’ve always been one to create my own opportunities, and I designed Dyenamic Career Goals to be the resource that my friends and I wish we had a number of years ago.

I am on a mission to help talented, hard-working Millennials take control of their careers by showing them how to create their own opportunities. You cannot afford to wait for someone to recognize you or reward you for your hard work.

With Dyenamic Career Goals, you’ll be one step ahead of everyone else. Whether that’s improving your situation at your current job, helping you identify the next step in your career, or helping you make the leap from employee to business owner, Dyenamic Career Goals will help you get your dream career.

Thinking About a Career Change?

Are you among the 85% of Americans who hate their job? Do you feel stuck in your career and unsure of what you should be doing for a living? You know you need to be doing something but you’re not sure what or how to figure it out.

In this journal, I’ll walk you through the process of reflecting on your career journey. By understanding your past and your current work situation, you can better understand what you need to thrive in your career.

A fair warning: This journal asks some thought-provoking questions. The feedback from my clients has been that this exercise forced them to think about things they glossed over or never even considered. It’s OK if you don’t have all the answers. The important thing is to begin reflecting on your career journey and thinking about what you want your work life to look like.
